Cikgu Suhaimi Sun Highlights Professionalism, Integrity and Discipline for International Technical Officials

During the International Technical Officials (ITO) and Referees session ahead of the TM ISTAF Sepaktakraw World Cup 2026, veteran technical expert Cikgu Suhaimi Sun Abdullah presented a comprehensive briefing on the new Standing Rules and Code of Conduct governing all International Technical Officers (ITOs) and referees under International Sepaktakraw Federation (ISTAF) and Asian Sepaktakraw Federation (ASTAF).

The presentation focused heavily on strengthening professionalism, discipline, integrity and international standards among all technical officials serving in major Sepaktakraw tournaments.

Cikgu Suhaimi stressed that referees and ITOs are not merely match officials, but ambassadors of Sepaktakraw whose conduct, appearance and behaviour directly reflect the image and credibility of the sport internationally.

Among the major areas highlighted were:

Strict professionalism and impartiality

Proper official attire and grooming

Discipline during meetings and official duties

Respect for tournament protocols

Social media ethics and confidentiality

Avoidance of conflict of interest

Restrictions on close interaction with players and team officials

Security, curfew and hotel conduct regulations

Unity, teamwork and mutual respect among officials
