Yesterday was the grand opening ceremony of the ASTAF Sepaktakraw Asian Cup Kuala Lumpur 2025 took place at the Tamu Hotel & Suites, Kuala Lumpur. The event was officiated by the Minister of Youth and Sports (KBS), alongside other distinguished guests. The tournament officially began today at the Titiwangsa Indoor Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, running from May 10 to May 18, 2025. Fourteen Asian nations were expected to compete in the Team, Regu, Double, and Quad events. However, Pakistan had to withdraw at the last minute due to escalating tensions and security concerns arising from the ongoing India-Pakistan crisis. This withdrawal resulted in automatic wins for Pakistan’s scheduled opponents in the Quadrant and Regu categories.

The Malaysian team kicked off their campaign today with matches starting at 2:00 PM in the Double and Quadrant events. Fans can catch the live action at the Titiwangsa Indoor Stadium or via official live streams on the Sepak Takraw Association of Malaysia’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
